Auction house Shapiro’s recent 20th-century sale 20/21C Art and Design fulfilled multiple fantasies.

For most of us, backyard discards yield disapproving grimaces from loved ones. For the lucky owner of a property in the Melbourne suburbs, however, four white concrete chairs designed by Swiss designer Willy Guhl c1965, and found in the backyard, were a last-minute consignment to the Shapiro auction on Wednesday 30 July.
