The hip hop dance form has quite a long history, beginning in the 1970s in New York. The form encompasses rap, dancing, graffiti and DJs, a culture within itself, rising up from the African American ghettos. Hip hop has since become an international phenomenon, attracting audiences and performers from other arts mediums across the world.
