There are all sorts of boards; big boards, small boards, new boards and old boards, arts boards and commercial boards but they all hold the final responsibility for the success or otherwise of a company.

A board is there to provide essential checks and balances to an organization and to help the CEO; as such it holds a vital role in any organisation. The specifics of what a board does, however, can vary considerably depending on the organisation.
