Is design suspended in transition?

On International Design Day we explore the impact of the pandemic on design, and look at design careers facing new frontiers.

International Design Day celebrates the founding of the International Council of Design (ICoD), an organisation that has come to be the world’s largest representative of professional designer entities across some 48 countries.

The old ways are no longer fit for purpose but the new ways have yet to be created.

‘As a designer working in a world constantly in flux, in what ways are you feeling suspended in transition?’ By using this moment in time as a catalyst for commentary, the Council is asking people to post their reflections on the space of transition we are living in and its impact on design, or to speak about the fundamental changes designers are seeing in their design practice – and to tag them @ internationaldesignday in their comments.
