How focusing on the sector’s vitamin deficiencies makes work stronger

Perhaps best known as a touring body, Performing Lines has a key role to play in strengthening the sector by focusing on the gaps that need addressing.

‘Performing Lines has always kind of been what the sector has required it to be, in many ways,’ said Marion Potts.

The organisation’s Executive Producer (with previous roles including directorships at the Australia Council for the Arts and Malthouse Theatre), Potts suspects many in the sector are unaware of Performing Lines’ role as a producer of new Australian work, tending to think of it as more focused on and facilitating touring for independent artists and small-to-medium companies.
