This week, the State Library of South Australia launches a new $15,000 fellowship for writers, artists, musicians, performers and creatives of any kind. This one supports the development of new work using the library’s collections, and is geared towards offering fresh perspectives on South Australian stories.
It’s always great to see a major new fellowship, especially one that’s open across disciplines and to young people too. Plus, newly launched opportunities can often be a chance to set the bar, be bold and think big. Without the parameters set by past winners and past outcomes, organisers likely have a fair idea of what they’re looking for but don’t yet have a firm mindset. In other words, don’t self-reject or rule yourself out!
