At the Australian Ballet School, we train dancers for the world stage. Behind that is a brand, a story and a standard – and that’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Marketing Manager who can take strategic direction and translate it into high-quality marketing delivery across campaigns, digital channels and communications.
This is a hands-on role, focused on execution and accountability – working within a small, highly collaborative team of two, partnering closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications to deliver across the full marketing function. The position has no direct people management responsibilities and requires a willingness to operate across a broad scope of work, maintaining a high standard of output and ensuring activity is well considered and effective.
The role:
You will lead marketing delivery across campaigns, digital channels and communications, ensuring activity is aligned to organisational priorities and deliver results.
- Own and deliver integrated marketing campaigns that support enrolments, performances and brand visibility, while building audience engagement
- Translate strategic priorities into clear campaign plans and oversee delivery across relevant channels
- Drive website performance and user experience through ongoing content updates and optimisation
- Manage digital channels, using data and audience insight to improve effectiveness
- Develop high-quality content and coordinate production with creative partners
- Deliver targeted communications to key audiences, including prospective families, students, alumni and partners
- Manage email marketing activity, including segmentation and performance optimisation
- Brief and oversee external agencies and suppliers to ensure work is delivered to a high standard
- Track performance across campaigns and channels, providing clear reporting to inform decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve engagement and overall marketing effectiveness
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end marketing campaigns, from planning through to execution and evaluation
- Strong capability across digital marketing, website management (CMS) and analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics)
- Demonstrated ability to develop or commission high-quality, brand-aligned content
- Experience managing external suppliers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality work
- Confidence working across multiple channels and priorities, with strong attention to detail
- Strong understanding of audience engagement, segmentation and communication effectiveness
- Ability to interpret data and turn insights into practical improvements
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience working within arts, education or not-for-profit environments will be well regarded
- Familiarity with CRM systems, marketing automation, SEO or paid digital campaigns will be viewed favourably
How you work:
- You take ownership of your work and deliver to a consistently high standard
- You turn strategic direction into clear actions and follow through to completion
- You manage competing priorities effectively and stay responsive when needs shift
- You communicate clearly and adapt your approach to different audiences
- You use judgment and initiative to keep work moving
- You look for ways to improve processes and strengthen outcomes
Why you’ll love it:
- You’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation at the intersection of arts and education
- You’ll have genuine ownership in a role with variety, autonomy, and visibility.
- Your work will support performances, student pathways and audience connection
- You’ll work with engaged stakeholders and creative partners
- You’ll have the opportunity to build your capability across campaigns, digital and content
Requirements
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- National Police Check
- Flexibility for occasional after-hours work aligned to events and performances
