Junior Marketing Assistant (0.4 FTE)

We’re now looking for a Junior Marketing Assistant to support our marketing and communications activities.
Position Purpose This is a role ideal for someone building their career in marketing, particularly in the arts or not-for-profit sector. You’ll assist with day-to-day marketing tasks, help prepare content, and support the promotion of MAV’s programs, events and initiatives.
Working closely with the General Manager (and CEO as required), you’ll contribute to keeping our communications accurate, engaging and on brand, while learning and growing your skills in a supportive team environment.
The position is 0.4 FTE, with minimum of a Tuesday required in the MAV office.
In this role you will:
- Support the delivery of marketing activity by updating content across digital platforms, including websites, email newsletters and social media channels, as directed.
- Prepare basic content such as social media captions, image selections and simple copy, under supervision.
- Assist with the preparation of promotional materials for programs and events, including assembling collateral and supporting distribution.
- Support event promotion by assisting with online listings, community calendars and basic outreach tasks.
- Respond to routine marketing and membership enquiries.
- Support the processing of MAV membership joins and renewals by completing data entry, issuing confirmations and escalating enquiries as required.
About You You’re organised, detail-oriented and eager to build your marketing career. You enjoy working collaboratively and are comfortable following processes and guidelines.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Demonstrated experience assisting with marketing or communications activities in an arts, events or related environment.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate and professional content under direction.
- Experience supporting promotional activities across one or more channels (e.g. digital, social media, email or print).
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete tasks to deadlines within established priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with social media and digital communication platforms.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and follow established processes and instructions.
