State Theatre Company SA is seeking an outstanding Head of Development to lead our philanthropic, corporate and private-sector revenue strategy.

State Theatre Company South Australia — the state’s flagship theatre company — is seeking an outstanding Head of Development to lead our philanthropic, corporate and private-sector revenue strategy.

This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of one of Australia’s leading performing arts companies. Working closely with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, Board and Foundation, you will play a key role in growing private income, building meaningful supporter relationships and enabling ambitious theatre to be created and shared with audiences across South Australia.

The Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Head of Development will lead the Company’s fundraising and partnership strategy across philanthropy, corporate partnerships, foundations and bequests. You will also lead and mentor the Development team and deliver high-quality supporter engagement, campaigns and events.

About You

You are a strategic and relationship-driven development professional who thrives on connecting people with great artistic work. You bring:

  • Significant experience in fundraising, partnerships or development in the arts or not-for-profit sector
  • A track record securing major gifts or corporate partnerships
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • A passion for theatre and the role of the arts in community life

Details

  • Location: Adelaide
  • Employment: 0.8–1.0 FTE (negotiable)
  • Contract: 2 years with 6 month probation period
