General Board Member

Luminescence Chamber Singers - an exciting, professional and acclaimed vocal ensemble - seeks directors to join its dynamic and collegial Board.

Luminescence Chamber Singers Ltd is looking to appoint a number of new Directors to the Board, following the completion of some Directors’ terms.

Our Board Directors are all music lovers, committed to promoting and supporting Luminescence’s vision and activities. We work on a collegiate basis and value the input of all around the table in decision-making. Open-mindedness, an inquisitive mindset, and respect for others’ views are essential. 

We aim to build on the range of skills, personal attributes and experience brought to the Board by our current Directors: including governance and technical experience; arts industry experience; communication, leadership and innovation skills. We also seek to maintain diversity in Board membership. 

As well, our new Directors will show excellence in one or more of the following areas:

• Senior arts management experience, and/or strong networks in the arts sector or in Commonwealth/ACT government arts portfolios
• Accounting and financial management
• Communications and marketing
• Formal director qualifications 

Previous Board experience is desirable but not essential. If you have relevant skills and experience, and would like to help us grow and flourish, do get in touch! Luminescence Chamber Singers is a professional vocal ensemble based on Ngunnawal and Ngambri country (Canberra, ACT). Since its formation in 2015, Luminescence has become one of Australia’s most exciting and versatile ensembles, performing repertoire from renaissance polyphony, medieval music, contemporary art music (including many new commissions), pop and folk. Its debut album is scheduled for forthcoming release with ABC Classics. Luminescence is also the umbrella organisation for the Luminescence Children’s Choir, an acclaimed performanceensemble for singers aged 10-17. We are a dynamic and forward-looking arts organisation, committed to high standards of corporate governance.
