First Nations Producer
Support First Nations-led programming, strengthen community relationships and deliver culturally informed arts initiatives for Brisbane Powerhouse.
Brisbane Powerhouse is seeking a First Nations Producer to support the development and delivery of First Nations-led programming and year-round engagement across our contemporary arts program.
Located on the Brisbane River (Maiwar), Brisbane Powerhouse is a leading destination for contemporary culture and the arts, presenting more than 1,750 performances and events each year and hosting major festivals including Brisbane Comedy Festival, Melt and Night Feast. This role plays an important part in strengthening cultural representation, building meaningful relationships and supporting culturally respectful creative processes across our programming.
Working closely with artists, communities and internal teams, the First Nations Producer contributes to the coordination and delivery of programs and projects while supporting strong engagement with First Nations creatives and cultural advisors. The role works collaboratively with the Programming team, the First Nations Advisory Committee and project reference groups to ensure culturally informed and respectful program delivery.
We are seeking a First Nations and/or Torres Strait Islander professional with experience supporting the delivery of arts, cultural, or live programs. You will bring a strong understanding of First Nations cultural contexts and the experiences of artists working in the sector, along with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities and timelines, collaborating across teams, and responding flexibly during peak delivery periods, including evenings and weekends.
