As part of this exciting journey, we are currently seeking Events & Public Activities Crew casuals to join our team and contribute to delivering vibrant, engaging public activations and events across the City.
About the role
This position is responsible for providing on-the-ground practical workforce supporting major events, community events, markets, city activation programs and a wide range of holiday activities, exhibitions and functions, outdoors and within venues across the Parramatta LGA.
On a daily basis you will:
- Assist with the practical setup, delivery, and pack‑down of public activities, events, exhibitions, and functions across the Parramatta LGA.
- Provide customer service and act as a City/Council ambassador, offering information and engaging positively with residents, visitors, and workers.
- Support contractors, artists, suppliers, and event teams on‑site, ensuring smooth coordination of staging, equipment, and event services.
- Safely use tools and equipment when installing, maintaining, or removing event infrastructure, while applying problem‑solving and working independently when required.
- Ensure safety, compliance, and professionalism, including WHS obligations, security of equipment, and maintaining positive relationships with businesses and agencies
About YouThe successful candidate should have previous experience working in public activations, events and festivals, audio/lighting, venues or recreation programs.
You will also bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in appropriate technical areas, such as live production, stage management, event management, sound engineering, OR two years of demonstrated hands-on industry experience.
- Capacity to perform manual labour, including ability to lift and manoeuvre weight up to 16kg.
- Construction Industry General Induction card (“white card”)
- Current Class C Driver’s License.
- Valid WWCC.
What’s on offer
We are offering an attractive hourly rate of $33.19 plus 12% superannuation
You will also receive 25% casual loading.
