 Salary Range:  $110K to $130K

Our experienced team of industry professionals work to establish partnerships that are built on trust, allowing us to better serve clients through clear communication, a streamlined workflow and creative product that captures the imagination. With offices currently in NYC and London, Creative Goods will be opening a new office in Sydney to expand their global presence in Australia and throughout Asia.

 

 POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Operations oversees day-to-day client and venue operations and manages priorities within the agency for specific projects in Australia and throughout Asia.  Reporting to the executive management team based in New York City (Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President) the Director of Operations oversees and provides leadership to overall operations, strategy, and business alignment at Creative Goods Australia. The Director of Operations partners with leadership in driving strategic direction across the business, brands, clients, shows, and venues we serve.  This position has a flexible working arrangement, with a minimum requirement of 3 days per week in the office. Travel throughout Australia and future territories in Asia is required.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all local staff in Australia; 
  •         Act as the primary liaison and coordinator between onsite retail operations and theatre management and their staff.  Form relationships with these venues for positive CG growth within the industry; Act as the account project manager across all agency projects in the territory; liaise with internal teams on timelines and deliverables, manage every aspect of the project, including creative development, product development, purchasing, ecommerce, and retail operations;
  •         Research and learn about touring and business expansion with the region for CG;
  •         Liaise with clients as needed on site for all aspects of the business (product and operational);
  •         Be the voice and face of CG within the territory and in constant communication with the executive management team in NYC;
  •         Manage relationships and negotiate deals with clients when necessary and with advisement of CEO and CFO;
  •         Oversee inventory management through ongoing communication with local warehouse vendors, and relevant administrative offices to ensure adequate stock levels in all locations;
  •         Accurately report the weekly count of merchandise delivery and inventory with local theatre staff;
  •         Undertake inventory management including but not limited to creative, analytical reports and executive summaries necessary to maintain the ongoing accounting of inventory, and accurately submit purchase orders as needed with approval of senior management;
  •         Oversee and lead all aspects of product purchasing including sourcing local vendors, procurement of samples and any necessary due diligence; work with NYC purchasing department for combined orders on relevant productions/events; work with purchasing team, local warehouses, and other third-party vendors to manage and prioritize production schedules;
  •         Responsible for the ongoing communication of daily sales reports including any relevant ad-hoc reporting in addition to weekly, monthly, and yearly sales averages; 
  •         Ensure all internal tracking tools (Monday.com) are regularly updated, flag any potential issues, and offer solutions to mitigate delays/setbacks;
  •         Work with the Finance Director to be sure all invoices are provided and paid in a timely manner;
  •         Travel to tour cities as needed to assist with inventory checks, display updates and any other tour related needs;
  •         Work with local staff to guide, create, and oversee Visual Display elements across all projects.;
  •         Assist with the creation of client presentations and creative reviews, ensuring that all outbound material is accurate and up to date;
  •         Ideate new product ideas alongside product development team that fit with the creative vision of each account;
  •         Ensure the successful launch of new venues and load out of closing locations by coordinating travel teams, confirming training and implementation is taking place;
  •         Oversee staffing and ensuring that all projects are staffed appropriately, and onboarding is correct.

REQUIREMENTS:

  •         Five to seven years of successful management and operations experience in sales in a commercial environment.
  •         Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills;
  •         The ability to understand, articulate and report on financial, budgeting, planning, and operational business acumen to senior management.
  •         Proven success in leading and supervising team members in a fast-paced commercial environment.
  •         Able to manage team performance and access staff’s progress, motivate and be a key player in staff development, training and mentoring effectively.
  •         Collaborative and flexible in your management style.
  •         Establish a work culture that is respectful, collaborative, and trustful of confidences.
  •         Meticulous attention to detail.
  •         Ability to investigate, problem solve and independently find solutions to issues.
