Ceremonial Program Manager

Major museum and educational facilities within the memorial facilitate provision of enhanced ceremonial, exhibition, education and learning programs to over one-million visitor and online audiences every year.
What You Will Do:
As the Ceremonial Program Manager you will lead the Shrine’s expansive Ceremonial Program, overseeing the planning and delivery of more than 150 remembrance services each year that honour Victorian and Australian military service and sacrifice. You will work closely with a diverse network of stakeholders—ex‑service organisations, veterans’ groups, the Australian Defence Force, Victoria Police, and state and federal government bodies—to ensure the successful delivery of each ceremony.
The Ceremonial Program Manager is responsible for major commemorative events such as the State Remembrance Day Service and the Shrine’s weekly Last Post Service, as well as leading the Shrine’s involvement in the planning and delivery of the Anzac Day Dawn Service in partnership with RSL Victoria. You will also support the organisation more broadly by acting as a front‑of‑house duty manager when needed.
As the majority of remembrance services are held on Sundays, the Ceremonial Program Manager is required to work Sunday to Thursday. Some variable hours work will also be required for major events.

Essential
- Empathy for the objectives of the Shrine of Remembrance.
- Proven success in event management, including planning, production, delivery, and evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, and developing staff.
- Demonstrated experience in the effective compilation of administrative documentation to a high level for both internal and external audiences.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills, including the demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
- Proven ability to work under pressure to meet competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work within established frameworks and systems; and experience with structured processes such as procurement and risk management.
- An understanding of Work, Health and Safety and the physical ability to perform safe manual handling techniques and move a variety of items as required.
Desirable
- Knowledge and/or experience of military ceremonial protocol.
- Relevant qualifications or accreditations in event and/or project management.
- Experience in management of emergency incidents.
- Experience with video streaming technology.
