- Salary commencing at $43.07 per hour, plus 25% casual loading, plus 12% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.

The Opportunity
Are you an organised and passionate events professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Moonee Valley City Council is seeking Casual Events Officers to join our Festivals and Events team and help deliver an exciting program of festivals, community events and place-based activations that bring people together.
In this varied role, you’ll support the delivery of high-profile festivals and major events, while also producing smaller community-focused events and activations. You’ll work collaboratively across Council, with community groups, artists, performers, contractors and suppliers to deliver engaging experiences that contribute to a vibrant and connected municipality.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of Council’s festivals, major events and community activations.
- Produce and administer smaller events and projects from planning through to delivery and evaluation.
- Coordinate event logistics, schedules, contractors, artists, vendors and suppliers to ensure successful event outcomes.
- Assist with procurement, contracts, event permits and administrative processes.
- Provide advice and guidance to internal Council teams and community groups on event planning, governance and logistics.
- Monitor shared event communications, prepare reports and evaluate event outcomes through surveys and feedback.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Marketing and Communications, to promote events and activations.
- Support continuous improvement of event systems, templates and processes while ensuring compliance with Council policies and relevant legislation.
Skills & Experience
You will have a tertiary qualification in Event Management, Arts Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience in event delivery. You will bring demonstrated experience planning and delivering events and activations, together with strong project management, administration and organisational skills. You are confident managing competing priorities, coordinating multiple stakeholders and building positive relationships across diverse groups. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound computer literacy and the ability to learn and use event management software. Experience providing event advice, managing event risk and compliance, and contributing to process improvements will be highly regarded. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to support event delivery is essential. A current Police Check and Working with Children Check are required.
