Forget the awkward app opener. Forget the “so, what do you do?” small talk. This Thursday, 18th June, Perth’s singles scene is getting a punchline, as Thursdating teams up with Grassroots Comedy for a singles comedy night upstairs at Leederville Comedy Club, inside The Leederville Hotel.
The premise is simple: everyone’s single, everyone’s in the room, and the jokes are doing the icebreaking for you.
Hosted by Chris Pucillo, a South African comic with the kind of warm, sharp stage presence that can turn a room of strangers into a party, the night promises more chemistry than your average dating app, and significantly better timing! Headlining is Jon Pinder, the UK-born comedy heavyweight known for quick wit, big laughs and the sort of crowd work that might just make your table famous for all the right reasons.
Rounding out the lineup is Trea Young, bringing a Hong Kong edge to the night, alongside Lachy Skinner, fresh from becoming a national finalist at the 2026 RAW Comedy competition – one of the country’s best proving grounds for rising stand-up talent.
It all takes place at The Leederville Hotel, 742 Newcastle Street, 2 shows from 6:30pm to 11:00pm, 25+ age restriction, and last entry at 9:30pm. Leederville Comedy Club is already known as Grassroots Comedy’s upstairs comedy hub at The Leederville Hotel, showcasing local, national and international acts in the heart of Leedy.
So whether you’re single and searching, single and sceptical, or just single and in need of a genuinely good Thursday night, this is the rare dating event where even a bad match can still be a great story.
No swiping. No pressure. Just laughs, drinks, and a room full of people who are already in on the joke.
