Heaps Decent will transform Randwick Town Hall into a vibrant creative hub through a free week-long youth program spanning music, digital media and multidisciplinary arts. Evening workshops will invite the wider community to create alongside artists, culminating in a public showcase celebrating the original work and talent developed throughout the week.
About this workshop
Wear Your Art is a hands-on digital design workshop exploring how original ideas can be transformed into bold T-shirt graphics and wearable art.
Led by streetwear designer and Heaps Decent artist Lachlan “Cheff,” participants will use accessible creative apps to develop an original design inspired by streetwear, cartoon iconography, manga, music and contemporary visual culture.
The workshop will guide participants through idea development, sketching, composition, colour and digital illustration. Participants may create a character, symbol, slogan or graphic that reflects their identity, interests or personal style. Lachlan will also share practical insights from running his own streetwear design and print business, including how digital artwork is prepared for clothing and merchandise.
Participants must bring their own iPad, tablet or similar digital drawing device with a suitable design app installed. At the end of the session, participants can opt to have their finished design professionally printed onto a T-shirt for an additional cost. Please email [email protected] is providing your own equipment is a barrier for you.
