Presented annually by Expertise Events, the Fair offers four days of creativity, learning, shopping and community, with experiences spanning quilting, sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet, papercraft, jewellery making, cake decorating and a wide range of creative hobbies.

Whether visitors are experienced makers, complete beginners or simply looking for a new creative outlet, the Melbourne Craft & Quilt Fair provides an opportunity to discover new products, learn practical skills and connect with Victoria’s vibrant crafting community.

Celebrated Guest Artist Natalie Jayne Joins the 2026 Fair

Contemporary alcohol ink and collage artist Natalie Jayne will appear as the Melbourne Craft & Quilt Fair’s 2026 Guest Artist.

Known for her colourful and expressive work, Natalie combines alcohol ink and collage techniques to create contemporary pieces that encourage artists to experiment with colour, texture and new creative approaches.

Visitors will be able to view Natalie’s work, hear about her creative process and gain inspiration for their own artistic practice.

New Cake Decorating and Sugar Art Pavilion

Expanding beyond the Fair’s traditional quilting and sewing foundations, the 2026 event will introduce a new Cake Decorating & Sugar Art Pavilion, presented by Cake Alley.

The dedicated pavilion will celebrate the creativity and technical skill involved in cake decorating and sugar artistry, giving visitors the opportunity to discover new techniques, products and inspiration from this growing creative category.

The new pavilion joins an extensive program of interactive areas and displays designed to encourage visitors to try something new.

Interactive Experiences for Every Kind of Maker

Visitors can take part in Make & Takes, workshops, demonstrations and seminars throughout the four-day event.

Feature areas will include:

  •     The free, drop-in Craft Bar
  •     Studio Workshops
  •     Skills Studio demonstrations and skills-building sessions
  •     The Knitters Lounge
  •     Make & Take activities
  •     Seminars and live demonstrations
  •     Sewing machine demonstrations featuring the latest technology
  •     Creative displays and specialist shopping

Major sewing machine brands will showcase their latest equipment and innovations, with opportunities for visitors to see the technology in action and compare machines before purchasing.

Victorian Quilters Showcase

A highlight of the Fair will be the Victorian Quilters Showcase, featuring an inspiring collection of quilts that celebrate craftsmanship, imagination and textile artistry.

From traditional techniques to contemporary designs, the showcase will demonstrate the remarkable creativity of Victorian quilters and provide inspiration for makers of every experience level.

Visitors will also be able to shop for fabrics, patterns, tools, yarn, equipment and creative supplies from specialist exhibitors travelling from around Australia.
