Join us for an engaging afternoon of conversation & food with the artists and curators behind new exhibition Chogh چوغ
Curators Elyas Alavi and Alia Qasim Zada, alongside artists Sher Ali and Tamana Alizada, will take you deeper into the works in their current exhibition. This group exhibition explores the artists’ lived experiences as Hazara people living in Australia.
As part of this program, Sher Ali will be performing alongside his work, SCREEN WEAVES. You’ll be invited to share some food with the artists and visitors after the proceedings.
Light Afghani-inspired refreshments will be provided, please register any dietary restrictions when booking.

About the exhibition
Chogh چوغ | Curated by Alia Qasim Zada and Elyas Alavi
Featuring artists: Razia Ghazal, Sha Sarwari, Alia Qasim Zada, Tamana Alizada, Sher Ali, Reza Foladi
Chogh is the Hazaragi word for “thread”, this exhibition brings together six Australian-Hazara artists whose works speak from lived experience exploring migration, identity, gender and belonging.
