Gallery 11:11 presents two artists inspired by their local bushland, each translating nature through colour and texture in distinctly different materials—textured painting and encaustic sculpture. Through these contrasting approaches, familiar flora is no longer singular, but reimagined, open to multiple ways of seeing, sensing and connecting with the landscape. This dialogue becomes fully present through the physical encounter with Tetiana’s painted reliefs and Deanne’s sculptural forms. Together, the paintings and sculptures celebrate the richness of Australian flora through two distinct yet complementary artistic languages.
Tetiana Koldunenko
Tetiana Koldunenko is a Chatswood-based artist who studies and celebrates the unique character of the Australian bush through her paintings. Each work begins as a sculptural white relief and develops into a highly detailed tapestry of colour, revealing the individuality of native trees and plants. Through her art, she encourages viewers to see the bush not as a uniform grey-green landscape, but as a collection of distinctive species, believing that familiarity and understanding inspire a deeper care for the natural environment.
Deanne Palmer
Deanne Palmer is a Gladesville-based artist, whose contemporary sculptures explore environmental themes through a practice shaped by natural and sustainable materials.
Created in response to a collaborative conversation in texture and colour, her abstracted native blossom forms illuminate the layered beauty and complexity of the natural world – the visible and the hidden, the fragile and the enduring, the tangible and the sensed.
