Queensland Theatre scoops Matilda Awards

The best of the state’s 2016 theatre productions were celebrated at Monday night’s award ceremony.

Queensland Theatre (formerly Queensland Theatre Company) dominated the 2016 Matilda Awards, presented at Brisbane Powerhouse last night and celebrating the excellence of southeast Queensland’s theatre industry.

The company won Best Mainstage Production for its production of Switzerland, with Matthew Backer winning Best Male Actor and Andrea Moor picking up the award for Best Female Actor for their performances in the same production.
