My heart has been opened, says NATSIAA winner Timo Hogan

Timo Hogan, a senior Pitjantjatjara man from Tjuntjuntjara – some five hours from the nearest town – has been named winner of the 2021 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA), Australia’s most prestigious award for an Indigenous artist.

On winning, Hogan said via video: ‘My heart has been opened … I’m happy doing the painting early morning coming here; happy doing painting for my land.’
