The image of a note-covered ‘Lennon Wall’ has become a recognisable visual motif for the Hong Kong civil rights protests, which have simmered and bubbled through the city’s summer.

In Melbourne, artist and curator Nikki Lam has organised an exhibition in support of the movement in Hong Kong, where she grew up and from which she recently returned. Bringing together artists from Hong Kong and Australia, the exhibition Sleepless Summer will be presented against the backdrop of a Lennon Wall at Missing Persons in Melbourne.
