Express interest by 8 November to make anywhere a stage at the 17th annual Anywhere Festival, happening in Brisbane and Moreton Bay across May 2027.

Anywhere Festival is for anyone with a performance or a location anywhere to become a stage – emerging or established, experimental and mainstream, creative developments to touring shows of theatre, comedy, dance, music, circus, cabaret, participatory, live art – in any kind of space, from warehouses and backyards to parks, laneways, cafes and pubs, op shops to offices… and even places with stages.

In 2025 we had more shows sell out, an increased average box office pay out across the festival of 43% or $2,055 per production, our highest artist satisfaction ever. Over half of the non traditional spaces were rent free with ther ermaining non traditional performaing spaces being low cost.

In 2027 we are keen to talk to performers and groups of all genres, from theatre, comedy, music, dance, circus, immersive, escape rooms. This year we are also making it more flexible for you as artists in the following way:

1. Be part of our program with all the world leading support you require from an independent festival that feels more like a major one or leverage the bits you need and go free range.

2. Perform anywhere. We work with you to find a location that works for you. This can be anything from unusual rent free locations to more traditional for rent stages

And most importantly, we know great art doesn’t start with a multi page application form and that’s why you can just email us, call, or if you do have all the info, there is an Expression of Interest form.

Here’s why you should do Anywhere FEstival in the words of artists who already have.

“Being able to afford venues and gear is make or break for emerging productions; I could actually pay my performers for their contributions to our Anywhere Fest shows.”

“Anywhere Festival helped turn an idea into a lived experience..”

“Anywhere is an affordable and accessible festival for artists in any stage of their career. As a producer, director, actor and designer, I felt I could make interesting and unique theatre in an even more unique space.”

“Anywhere Festival is important because it provides a genuine platform that supports the arts at a time when the arts are unfortunately undervalued and underfunded. It creates opportunities to reach new audiences as well as recurring ones, to network, and to work in new spaces and venues that wouldn’t otherwise be accessible.”

“Anywhere Festival gives independent artists and creatives very valuable and much needed support. Venues and insurance are usually expensive, photography and promotions is now expensive. Grants are few and far between and take time, energy and expertise. For promotions, there are few affordable avenues to reach audiences. Social media rules change so rapidly its hard to do that well, you need to pay for ads and if you don’t get it right you can waste money. Where I live, there are hardly any noticeboards either. Anywhere brings you avid lovers of live events, who are willing to take a risk on something low budget that they don’t know. It’s impossible as an artist to spend enough time on your work to make a great show if there is little money and Anywhere gives the opportunity to reach an audience and get going here. 50%-60% of my audiences said they came through Anywhere or word of mouth. Anywhere patrons bring groups of friends.”
