The Bowness Photography Prize enters its 21st year in 2026 and is now calling for entries. As the richest cash prize for photography in Australia, the Bowness Photography Prize offers artists opportunities to be recognised, rewarded and acquired through the Museum of Australian Photography.
The Bowness Photography Prize invites entries from artists working with photography. Entries for the prize will be considered from still photo-based media including analogue and digital photography, produced within the last year.
The judging panel will select first prize (winning $50,000) and two honourable mentions (each winning $2,500). All finalists are eligible for selection in the People’s Choice and the Wai Tang Commission ($10,000 + plus a solo exhibition). All shortlisted artists will be paid loan fees for the exhibition of their entries.
