She changed the face of the art scene in Canberra – some might even argue she “created” an art scene in our nation’s capital.

Joyce (Joy) Warren OAM ran Canberra’s first commercial gallery – Solander Gallery in Yarralumla – for four decades, during which time she introduced many emerging Canberra artists and exhibited some of Australia’s most important artists when there was great need to kick start Canberra’s art scene.
