Vale Hossein Valamanesh

Encapsulating visual poetry, artist Hossein Valamanesh is remembered for the love and longing that spoke through his works.

Late last night Greenaway Art Gallery (Gagprojects) announced the profound loss of Iranian-born Australian artist Hossein Valamanesh (1949 – 2022) after he suffered a major heart attack on 15 January.

After studying fine art in Tehran from 1967-1970, Valamanesh emigrated to Australia in his mid-twenties and have since then established a stellar career over the past four decades, having graduated from the South Australian School of Art in 1977.
