Artists like to collaborate with other artists – think of duos as a brand, such as British artists Gilbert & George now showing at Hobart’s MONA or Australian video artists Gabriella and Silvana Mangano​ or performance artists Clark Beaumont (Sarah Clark and Nicole Beaumont).​

Recently, a new inflection has emerged. With the rise of technology and a certain democratization that has come with digital media, we have seen more cross-discipline collaboration – dancers with visual artists; choreographers with filmmakers; sculptors with musicians.
