Alter State is a new arts and disability festival premiering in Melbourne in September 2022 thanks to a partnership between Arts Centre Melbourne, Arts Access Victoria and Creative Victoria.
Billed as a hybrid offering, with live performances across Arts Centre Melbourne’s theatres and spaces together with a range of digital content available online, it is also described as a ‘slow experience festival’ of contemporary art and ideas that will engage artists and audiences from Australia and Aotearoa (NZ).
