Named after Australia’s leading sculpture critic, Ken Scarlett, the $5000 prize hopes to promote critical engagement with the artform by inviting professional and amateur critics, artists and writers to review sculpture exhibitions or public art installations anywhere in Australia.

Sculpture is all around us. From Bert Flugelman’s Spheres in Adelaide’s Rundell Mall to Alison Weaver and Paul Quinn’s Three businessmen who brought their own lunch; Batman Swanston and Hoddle, it sprouts on city corners and from cracks.
