ICYMI: The week’s top news in the arts

$1.2 million sculpture commission for War Memorial, Bell Shakespeare's Hamlet tour dates, Refugee Week programming, plenty of festival announcements, and more arts news and events.

TALKS: Artspace in Sydney is offering a day of talks on Saturday 26 June, ahead of its imminent closure for renovation. The program begins with the launch of un Magazine‘s issue 15.1 centred on the theme of Surplus, kicking off with an introduction by editors Snack Syndicate (Andrew Brooks and Astrid Lorange), followed by a reading by Jazz Money, and a film screening by Jason De Santolo. Artist Jelena Telecki will be in conversation with Artspace curator Talia Linz discussing Telecki’s practice and working in the pleasurable, the illegible, the multiple and the mundane.
