Havana Biennial’s eleventh edition will feature an atypical environmental sculpture for Cuba’s landscape during the event, which will take place from May 11 to June 11 across the capital’s city squares, parks, urban spaces and venues.

The work Perspectiva by camagueyan artist Jorge Luis Santana will be shaped as an oversized submarine periscope with motion sensors allowing for public interaction. Perspectiva will also feature a convex mirror at its top alluding to the search for personal perspectives. The exact location of the display is yet to be announced, but it’s been confirmed the work will be situated in a public space.
