Premier and Minister for the Arts Ted Baillieu announced this week that the government will provide $127,500 in funding to Victoria’s arts festivals through the Tourism Victoria Events Program.

The Melbourne Festival, the Australasian World Music Expo and the Melbourne Fringe Festival will all benefit from the support.

Mr Baillieu said that the funding would benefit both audiences and performers and, “This funding will help these festivals strengthen Melbourne’s reputation as the arts capital of Australia and will enable the festivals to be marketed interstate and overseas.”
