Young Melbourne director Amiel Courtin-Wilson’s dramatic feature film Hail will break the Australian drought at the Venice International Film Festival this year, after it was the first film in a decade to be selected as part of the program.

The Venice International Film Festival is now in its 68th year and is the oldest film festival in the world, and certainly one of the most prominent. Film stars from across the globe make the journey to Italy’s city of canals for the annual event to showcase their films and rub shoulders with the best in the biz.
