The Country Arts WA Project Funds program matches regional, remote and very remote communities and artists with professional artists and cultural leaders in partnerships that can take a number of different forms. First up, the partners can make high quality arts projects, which are tangible and immediate outcomes for everyone to see where the money went, but there are other less obvious ways that investments can be made in art. Project Funds can help develop cultural networks through tailored activities; they can find ways to build sustained and durable cultural capacity; and they can add to the professional development of individuals or groups. In other words, the Project Fund invests in people and communities as much as it does with high profile, visible works of art. Funding varies depending on the type and location of the project, but whatever it is, all applications for projects to begin from July 1 will close at 5pm on Friday March 15. That means you have to think ahead but act pretty soon if you want your project considered for what can be significant funding.
