Digital or physical? Latest art fair updates

As lockdowns continue to wreck havoc across the country, ArtsHub takes a look at Melbourne's SPRING1883, Sydney Contemporary, Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair and Cairn Indigenous Art Fair with their take on the future of art fairs.

* In light of Melbourne’s week long snap lockdown announced today (5 August), all SPRING1883 satellite events will be paused while waiting for further advice from health directives. SPRING1883 will be on Artsy until 29 August.

2021 has seen art fair organisers haunted with the same travel and venue-capacity hurdles from the year before. Threatened existentially, art fairs have been promoted to become more flexible and reimagine model – think digital pivots, satellite booths, and a whole lot of dedication.
