Craft going backwards as infrastructure destroyed

The National Craft Initiative has released a report that describes a sector struggling to maintain its previous level of vitality, despite the fact that one in five Australians is engaged in craft.

The decision to defund Craft Australia in 2011 and the absorption and loss of crafts’ separate identity has led to a dilution in craft’s presence in the national conversation, according to Mapping the Australian Craft Sector.
