Some may argue that the 1854 Eureka Stockade rebellion was a defining moment in Australian history. It built the foundation of democracy and unionism in the country and empowered the disenfranchised to stand up against unjust treatment.

Others, on the other hand, may simply shrug their shoulders; indifferent to what now seems like a small piece of history – now irrelevant.
