Afghan graffiti artist threatened by Taliban

Afghan graffiti artist Malina Suliman has been threatened by the Taliban after painting graffiti of a skeleton wearing a burqa.

23-year-old graffiti artist Malina Suliman has been targeted by extremists who have been threatening her and her family after she painted a graffiti portrait of a skeleton wearing a burqa. Suliman described this work as a self-portrait illustrating violations against Afghan women.

‘A lot of questions were created in my mind. Why these things are illegal for women in Afghanistan? Why don’t women have rights? What is wrong?’ she told NDTV.
