Marking the beginning of National Reconciliation Week, recipients of the 2022 First Nations Arts Awards were announced during an event broadcast by NITV on 27 May.
Artist Destiny Deacon and Artistic Director of Bangarra Dance Theatre, Stephen Page were honoured with the Red Ochre Awards for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement. This year the award includes recognition of both an outstanding senior male artist and outstanding senior female artist, nominated by arts and community organisations and individuals.
