Only a few artists will be headhunted by galleries. For the rest, it’s an awful lot of thumb twiddling and checking for unread emails.
But that doesn’t mean the unrepresented artist should sit and wait until the call comes through. Even though only some get approached, many do the approaching themselves and often snag a contract with ease. All it takes is a fair bit of planning, a little bit of hard work and a liberal amount of social elbow grease.
