Australia’s newest cultural organisation, Writing Australia launched its online presence on Thursday night at the Wheeler Centre in Melbourne; the first phase in building a national writing network and providing a voice for writers in Australia.

Writing Australia will provide profile, professional development and support for established and emerging writers. It brings together, as a federation of sorts, the state-based writers centres in Tasmania, Victoria, South Australia, NSW and the ACT, enabling them to pool their resources through a new funding model into a national organisation that adds just that little bit more.
