Exit interview: Brett Cuthbertson, Head Packer, AGNSW

Having been in charge of the receiving and hanging of artworks at the AGNSW for 41 years, the sector farewells Brett Cuthbertson.

For 41 years, Brett Cuthbertson has been receiving artworks into the Art Gallery of NSW. It is one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that is pivotal to the day-to-day running of an art museum, that few walking through the gallery doors galleries would recognise.

Simply, every artwork hanging on the gallery’s walls comes through Cutherbertson’s department, and as Head Packer, most pass the scrutiny of his eye and care.
