Arts New South Wales has released new funding guidelines which appear to specifically target arts projects linked to urban renewal goals, such as Renew Newcastle and Renew Australia.

The new funding guidelines, released last week, contain eligibility guidelines that rule out projects ‘where the dominant purpose of the activity is the revitalisation or renewal of local, urban, business or main street precincts or town centres, or the establishment and continuation of creative industries hubs’. On page 34 of the guidelines, Arts New South Wales states bluntly that ‘funds are not available for these activities’.
