The Footscray Art Prize was awarded to Dr Megan Evans on Thursday night (21 June) for her work PARLOUR, which makes a controversial comment on colonialism. The photograph features Evans dressed in a replica of her grandmother’s Victorian dress embroidering a skull with her ‘friend and colleague Maree Clarke who is “ghosting” in traditional mourning wear’, according to the artists’s statement.
