Lismore-based artist Antoinette O’Brien has been named as the winner of the 2020 Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize with their portrait of Helen Deravenchecko.

The winning work, Lacuna, was selected by Sydney-based visual artist Abdul Abdullah, and announced in an online event. When considering his selection, Abdullah said:
