About Wilurarra Creative

Wilurarra Creative builds strong communities and opportunities through arts-based training, skills exchange, and creative practice, contributing to contemporary expressions of Ngaanyatjarra culture. It provides 16–30-year-old Ngaanyatjarra people with access to creative tools and programs that support self-directed learning and cultural expression. Established 21 years ago, Wilurarra Creative is a project of Warburton Community Inc. and is a vital part of the cultural life of the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to take on the role of Wilurarra Creative Studio Coordinator. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Wilurarra Creative’s studios and facilities, ensuring participants have safe, consistent access to creative tools, and supporting the delivery of programs and seasonal projects.

The facilities include music studios, digital photography, video and graphic design equipment, screen printing, metalwork and sculpture tools, computer access and digital archives.

You will work in a remote location, working closely with Ngaanyatjarra staff, cultural workers, and visiting creative mentors to deliver arts-based projects while maintaining the studio, equipment and program documentation.

In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate daily operations of Wilurarra Creative studios and equipment
  • Maintain and coordinate access, usage, and upkeep of facilities and tools
  • Support cultural workers, visiting creative mentors, and participants in program delivery
  • Build respectful cross-cultural relationships within the community
  • Maintain project documentation including photos, video, music, and other media, with appropriate permissions
  • Work within established systems to collect data for reporting to funding partners
  • Promote program outcomes within the community and externally
  • Work closely under the leadership of Wilurarra Creative Co-Directors

About You

  • Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Clear communication skills and capacity to connect with diverse stakeholders
  • Respect for Ngaanyatjarra community protocols and a willingness to work cross-culturally with Ngaanyatjarra young adults
  • Experience in community arts and cultural development (desirable)
  • Interest in experiencing remote community life
  • A positive attitude and flexible work style
  • Valid driver’s licence (for a manual vehicle)
