Senior Creative Producer

Senior Creative Producer plays a central role in the ideation and delivery of MAV’s artistic programs, festivals and creative initiatives.

We are now seeking a Senior Creative Producer to lead the delivery of high-quality artistic programs, festivals and creative initiatives that reflect the diversity and contemporary energy of Victoria’s arts landscape.

Position PurposeThe Senior Creative Producer plays a central role in the planning, coordination and delivery of MAV’s artistic programs, festivals and creative initiatives.

Reporting to the General Manager, this role works closely with artists, curators, internal teams and external partners to translate creative vision into well-managed, financially responsible and impactful public outcomes.

This position balances artistic ambition with operational excellence, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high professional standard, while embedding MAV’s values of diversity, equity, trust and courage across all creative activity.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of MAV’s artistic programs, exhibitions, festivals and public outcomes.
  • Collaborate with artists and curators to realise creative concepts aligned with MAV’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Ensure artistic outcomes meet high professional standards and audience development goals.
  • Contribute to evaluation and reporting on artistic outcomes and audience engagement.
  • Manage end-to-end production processes including timelines, budgets, contracts and logistics.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Coordinate suppliers, venues, contractors and technical teams.
  • Act as a key point of contact for artists and collaborators.
  • Build strong relationships with venues, councils and cultural partners.

About YouYou are a confident and experienced creative producer who thrives at the intersection of artistic vision and operational delivery.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience producing or coordinating arts programs, festivals, exhibitions or large-scale creative projects
  • Strong project management capability, including timelines, budgets and stakeholder coordination
  • Knowledge of contemporary arts practice, including Australian and international contexts (Asia–Pacific knowledge highly regarded)
  • Experience working across diverse communities with cultural sensitivity and inclusivity
  • Sound financial management skills and experience managing production budgets
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities calmly
  • Experience delivering outdoor, public or large-scale events (highly regarded)
