About us
The Australian Girls Choir (AGC) is Australia’s leading children’s performing arts organisation, dedicated to empowering girls through music. We have more than 6,500 choristers training in six Australian cities and we’re looking for energetic and talented individuals to join our senior team in Canberra in 2026.
The roles:
We are seeking experienced Tutors/Accompanist to work with our most senior choristers, based in Deakin.
- Co-teach and accompany senior choristers, developing their aural, vocal and stage skills
- Perform and rehearse with AGC ensembles at concerts, rehearsal weekends, and our annual 5-day music school in April
- Collaborate with a supportive team of professional musicians and educators
What we’re looking for:
- Excellent piano accompaniment skills
- Strong background in choral conducting, performing arts and/or music education
- Inspiring leadership style with the ability to motivate young performers
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team
- A passion for girls’ education and the value of Performing Arts
- Availability for weekly Thursday evening classes (school terms) plus some weekend rehearsals/events (approx. 8 per year)
- Desired: music/teaching qualification
- Required: Working with Children Check
