Erth Visual & Physical Inc. is seeking props and puppet makers

Erth’s Marrickville-based studio and workshop has created for cultural institutions and commercial clients in Australia and around the world. The company tours internationally year-round with its stage shows Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo, Prehistoric Aquarium and Prehistoric World, as well as newer works ARC and Erth’s Shark Dive.

Erth employs puppet makers, props builders and artists from a diverse range of backgrounds to undertake the design, construction and maintenance of our menagerie of creatures (including our herd of dinosaurs). We are currently seeking to expand our team in response to upcoming contracts and we have a range of casual and/or short-term contracts roles available.

Whilst the skills base we require is diverse, we are keen to talk with people who have qualifications and/or experience in at least one of the following areas of expertise:

·      Puppet and prop design/construction

·      Sculpting, painting, drawing and textile arts

·      Design/construction of dynamic mechanisms

·      Electronics/electrics (including battery operated systems)

·      Light industrial construction/engineering (carpentry/welding/general construction)

The following qualifications will also be considered favourably:

·      Standard Drivers License

·      Rigging qualifications

·      Test and tag qualifications
